Jean Gibson, M.S., D.C.
Dr. Jean Gibson, M.S., D.C., received her bachelor’s degree from SMU in Dallas, and her master’s degree specializing in exercise physiology from North Texas State University in Denton, TX. She taught school at both the junior high and college level, until a ruptured disc in her back in 1988 changed the course of her life and career goals.
A neurosurgeon recommended back surgery but Dr. Gibson didn’t want to have such an invasive procedure. She tried an alternative – Chiropractic. She fully recovered with no limitations, so she returned to school, earning a B.S. in anatomy and a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Parker College in Dallas. She also received certification in Acupuncture.
Dr. Gibson moved to Fayetteville AR in 1993 and opened Gibson Chiropractic, offering Chiropractic care and Acupuncture. She then added Colon Hydrotherapy to her practice in 2002, as a way to help her patients with detoxification. Colonics cleanse the colon by removing toxic material, which in turn improves the assimilation of nutrients.
In 2010 Dr. Gibson was trained in the use of Neurological Stress Reduction Therapy (NSRT) by BioVeda Technologies. In 2011, she was certified in the use of the Koren Specific Technique (KST) by Dr. Tedd Koren.
Office Manager
Lisa McClure
During her 16 years as a social worker, Lisa became well acquainted with the damage constant stress can do to the human body. When her back and neck pain became unbearable, a co-worker suggested she see Dr. Jean. Lisa had grown up going to chiropractors, but after becoming a patient found that Dr. Jean wasn’t like her childhood chiropractor – she was interested in helping the whole person, not just treating symptoms.
Lisa left the field of social work and in 2005 brought her helping skills to The Gibson Center as the office manager and Dr. Jean’s assistant. In 2010, she was trained in the use of Neurological Stress Reduction Therapy (NSRT) by BioVeda Technologies. She is able to use her experience in the helping profession to help others feel their best!
Lisa is active in her son’s school as both a PTO Board member and an Odyssey of the Mind Coach. She is also active in her son’s Boy Scout Troop, as well as serving as the Training Chair for Razorback District of the Boy Scouts of America. She understands the busy life most of our patients lead, and wants to see all our patients be able to live the life they want to live.
